One of the few activities we took part in, on the ship, was the tango night, which was attended by people of all ages. I dance tango and this dance has always fascinated me. An elderly couple was also present. They were wearing smart clothes and seemed to have a powerful personality. They started dancing in their own style, but they had rhythm. He would sometimes give her directions and she would try to follow them. I wondered if they had always danced tango together, or if they met along the way.<\/p>\n
All Argentine people dance tango, regardless of age and social status, as it is their national dance. They dance in bars, on the street, everywhere. Dancing in pairs, especially tango, brings the partners closer, creating that chemistry that gives a certain dynamic to the couple\u2019s relationship. Before the pandemic, I saw dance evenings organized in the parks of European countries or on terraces, I saw couples dancing naturally, dancing was for them a form of socialization and entertainment. I saw a few years ago a dance evening organized by people of the third age, in Malta, where they wore carnival outfits. Currently, I notice that dance is losing more and more ground, there is no longer the same openness for such moments as in the past. At the same time, there are countries like Romania, where dancing is only done at events and discos, as far as I know, not having dance evenings organized like in the West.<\/p>\n
Are these moments not proof that people, regardless of age, live their lives relaxed, enjoying socializing? Isn’t it nice to live like this, regardless of age? What stops us from looking at life more relaxed, without so many restrictions and limitations if not a rigid mentality according to which advancing age requires a certain sobriety and detachment? I believe that life is lived regardless of age and it is up to each individual to bring a bit of joy to the world, contributing to the creation of a positive energy in the environment where they live. The state of joy is related to emotional hygiene, and we should also pay attention to this form of hygiene, not only to the one related to the physical body.
