They teach us love, self-confidence, self-respect. They open our eyes to a reality that until then we had not perceived. Love, self-confidence and self-respect open unknown doors to understanding life. They are a light that spreads from one being to another, burning like a candle deep within us. Lighting our way. Giving us courage to walk the path of life. Awakening in us the belief that we are heading in the right direction.
\nWithout that light that others kindle in us, we do not know how to light. We wander in the dark, searching for meaning. We are drifting, in a world with countless possibilities, we feel that we have no place, because there was no one to see us really, so that we could see ourselves in return. An intense look, gliding into the depths of the soul, a handshake, a word that reminds us of our own greatness is enough. From that moment on, we perceive life as we have never perceived it before. We see its color, feel its depth. We perceive ourselves differently. Because there was someone we crossed paths with who passed on the magic of life to us, unleashing the latent potential that lies within each of us, waiting to come to light.
\nIt can be a parent, a teacher, a sibling, a friend, a lover, a spiritual master, a being I met by chance. Anyone who marked our existence, seeing us with different eyes than others. Whoever those people are, we know deep down that meeting them changed our lives. Many personalities who achieved something in life spoke in their biography about such people who loved them or gave them self-confidence.
\nI have met such people throughout my life. Some gave me love. Others gave me confidence in myself. I remember the physics teacher the most, an elegant person, with distinction, who, in one of the classes, talked to us about the challenges of that subject. Seeing the fear in my eyes, not being in my element when it came to the exact sciences, he told me in a determined tone: “You have nothing to worry about, because you know how to handle it!” The way he said those words was etched in my mind forever. I didn’t have much confidence in myself back then, because my parents didn’t know how to pass it on to me, being preoccupied with other things. I acquired it along the way, as I overcame the obstacles in my way, bearing in mind the words of the physics teacher. They seem like trivial words, but for me, they were of overwhelming importance.
\nIt is said that when the disciple is ready, the master appears. I would paraphrase these words, saying that whenever a human being is ready to love, or to see his own greatness, there appears a person who, without knowing it, with a simple look, or with few words, will open unexpected paths to a great, fulfilling life. Gestures and words of inestimable value, intended to light a candle somewhere deep inside, which will never lose its flame.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
There are people who cross our path and change our perception of the world.
