The only justice is that of love. It brings people closer, it soothes, and it heals. Anything other
than love is not justice, it is lack of courage and commitment, meant to increase the distance
between souls.
If we understood the language of soul wounds, we could heal them. We do not see them, as we
see physical wounds, but they are there, we carry them with us everywhere, hindering the path to a fulfilled life. We are careful with physical wounds, we know how to treat them or we call on the specialty to treat them, but we ignore the spiritual ones, because we don’t see them and, therefore, we think they don’t exist. We create escapes that distract us from them. We believe that if we close our eyes and ignore the pain that it causes, it will be fine. They will be forgotten.
But, on the contrary. Kept silent and untreated, they bear little by little from the foundation of
life, multiplying the doubts, fears, anxieties we have, creating new ones.
Most wounds are not visible, we don’t even see them, because we haven’t been taught to look at them. We were taught to ignore them, to see them as weaknesses that should not be taken
seriously, because life is about winning at any cost, with any sacrifices.
However, life is not about winning at all costs, it’s about healing. To heal ourselves first of
all, then those around us by our own example. If we saw life as a marathon, I wonder if, realizing that we have a physical wound, we would ignore it or, on the contrary, we would not concern ourselves with healing it in order to run better. Most would certainly concern themselves with healing, ignoring the pain only for the duration of the competition. Instead, soul wounds are disregarded, put aside. They spoil the image created over time, of a strong, independent person.
But they are there, and their indisputable proof is that we get angry at people and situations, we get angry, we take revenge, having the impression that in this way, we are doing justice,
restoring the honor that we feel we have lost. The more wronged or humiliated someone is, the greater the wound he hides and the more he denies it.
We fear that if we show our vulnerability, others will not love us or take advantage of us. And
then, what we display is only a mask, moving away from authentic relationships, favoring those of compromise, comfortable relationships that we believe are suitable for us because they don’t hurt much. It’s true, a genuine relationship based on feelings is painful, because it brings to light hidden wounds, which we are not aware of most of the time. Many withdraw after the initial period, when everything is nice and calm, blaming the other, thus finding justification to move on, looking for comfortable relationships that maintain the illusion that everything is fine.
Saying that love is an illusion that doesn’t last very long or even denying that they had feelings. In reality, no matter how much attraction there is between two people, the activation of wounds drives them apart at best, going so far as to destroy the relationship and those involved.
The solution is to stay in the relationship to heal. Anger or resentmentis not caused by the
attitude or words of the other, but, in fact, they activate wounds or touch them, causing pain. If
we did not have them hidden somewhere, we would not be led by the attitudes of others who, in reality, wrong themselves by behaving with others in a dishonorable way. When we are happy, for example, we do not feel hurt as we do in ordinary life situations, when the same words seem unforgivable.
Staying in a relationship to heal does not mean keep throwing stones at each other, hurting the
other, or retaliate, because that only creates more pain. Staying to heal means, first, being aware of your own wounds, then seeing the other’s wounds when they reject or when they offend. It means looking at them gently, with understanding and acceptance, until their pain goes away.
Bandage them with beautiful words, said from the heart, bringing out the attractive side that each one has. If you ask, ask with love. If you leave, leave with love, not because you can’t take it anymore, because this attitude is just a sign that the wounds have just been exposed and you
don’t want to see them. Leave because you think that maybe it’s better that way. And if you have a reason to stay, do it to build something authentic, which fulfills you and thus also fulfills the other person.
The only justice is that of love. It brings closer, soothes and heals. Anything other than love is
not justice, it is lack of courage and commitment, meant to increase the distance between souls.
